The chassis of this stunning RD800 is lengthened over the standard release, with each of the axles fitted with
small springs to allow suspension oscillation. The front axle has working steering, achieving a good range of
movement with the drive-train detailing visible on the underside.
The cabin has doors on each side that open wide enough to allow the nicely finished interior to be seen,
complete with the printed dials on the dashboard and the contoured seats. The front of the model has a
protruding towing hitch with the distinctive Mack hood ornament present. The bonnet design is hinged along
the centre line and both sides can be lifted to reveal the engine bay in all its glory which is a great feature of
the model with nothing left to the imagination.
At the rear, there is a hinged fifth wheel plate with a fully
functional pin-locking lever, allowing various brand trailers to be
hooked up. For heavy haul jobs, the model comes with a fully
contained ballast box which drops into place on the rear chassis
frame. There is excellent detailing of the tie-down straps and
chains which really catch the eye.
