Heavy Haul Replicas
The all-new Heavy Haul Replicas product line is a range of exceptionally detailed die-cast
Mack truck models, expertly crafted in 1:50 scale and packed with authentic features and
functionality. Nicholas Neumann, and his family, has had success with the Fire Replicas
range of fire fighting and emergency vehicle models since 2014, including classic and
modern apparatus from the world’s leading OEM’s. These static fire truck models feature
resin and stainless steel parts, but the new HHR line focuses on diecast construction with
full functionality. This first issue of the new Heavy Haul Replicas magazine covers the first
release, the Mack RD800, comprised of nine configurations of the RD800 heavy duty
tandem axle tractor across company liveries and standard color configurations.
MACK RD800 Tractor
The Mack RD series is a heavy-duty version of the Mack Model R which was manufactured
between 1966 to 2004. The RD series has a squarer, more streamlined hood design over
the R series and is one of the main distinguishing features between the standard and
heavy-duty versions of the truck. While many RD800 series trucks were tandem axle,
there was an option for all-wheel-drive configuration, typically for military, oil field and
logging applications where the extra strong
frame and choice of Mack or Fuller
transmissions allowed for maximum payload
capabilities. Mack engines were available for
the RD800 series ranging from 350hp to 460hp
with the E7 E-Tech model,
increasing to 500hp on the
E9-500 Mechanical model engine.
Other options included the
Caterpillar 3406C rated at 425hp.
