     MACK RD800
       Red over Black
       The standard version of
       the Mack RD800 has a
       shorter chassis which
       packs plenty of detail. As
we take a look at the
       underside of the model,
       we are greeted with the
       chassis rails along which
       flexible service lines have
       been modelled. The rear
       drive axles are linked with
       a driveshaft, with another
       driveshaft connecting the
       axles to the transmission.
The rear axles have replicated suspension arms which have been fitted with small springs, allowing them
to oscillate a little to simulate the range of movement on the original and this does work well. As we look
towards the front of the chassis, we have the bottom contours of the engine block with the front axle not
only having some suspension movement but also a decent angle of steering. Along the sides of the
chassis are fuel tanks with integrated access steps and air bottles for the brake operation along with the
       battery compartment.
